Founding member and product lead at PUP, and building the design system behind 30+ brands at DPG Media. Earlier work spans the European Space Agency, a crewed Axiom spaceflight mission, and the Dutch Ministry of Defence.

Founding member with a 25% stake, leading product for a padel engagement and loyalty platform.

  • Lead product direction and design, and build the front-end across three applications: a public web app, a club backoffice, and a React Native mobile app.

DPG Media Amsterdam

Senior Front-end Developer & Design Systems (freelance) (Feb 2021– Current)

Front-end and design systems at the largest media company in the Netherlands and Belgium, in a team of 16 developers, 10 of them front-end.

  • Built and maintain the design system behind 30+ brands, with design tokens authored in Figma Token Studio and distributed to code through Style Dictionary.

  • Migrated the system to Figma variables, wired back to components through Code Connect and the Figma MCP server.

  • Led the new subscription portal for the main news titles, running a team of four front-end developers.

  • Migrated the front-end from Nuxt 2 to Nuxt 3.

  • Run A/B tests through Optimizely Full Stack.

  • Build to European accessibility standards, with Lighthouse checks in the pipeline.

Freelance Haarlem

Front-end Developer & UX Designer (Apr 2015– Current)

Working with diverse clients on numerous projects, focusing on designing and building websites, web applications, and mobile apps.

  • Rebuilt the website for THE EMBASSIES with one other developer, to a design by Hello Monday. The result won a Lovie Award. A six-year engagement, 2019 to 2025.

  • Built the meeting platform for Space Applications Services used on Axiom Mission 4, letting astronauts hold moderated video calls and live streams with large groups on Earth from orbit, and reusable across future missions.

  • Designed the UX and UI for Foxtrot, a database and project management tool for the Dutch Ministry of Defence programme to replace all tactical land-based communications and IT infrastructure.

  • Designed and built the frontend for EORSA-DB, a European Space Agency application giving the agency insight into past, present, and planned Earth observation missions and their coverage.

  • Designed UI-DSM for the European Space Agency, an application for non-expert users to review MBSE models.

  • Led design and frontend development for PPRDMED, an internet platform aimed at smarter disaster risk management.

  • Created a contractor management portal for the U.S. DOD Chief Digital & AI Office.

  • Developed the frontend for a Tommy Hilfiger marketing site featuring the new Lewis Hamilton collection.

  • Designed the backoffice web portal for MyParcel.com to manage shipments, returns, and carriers.

  • Created Bouwplaats, a B2B marketplace for circular building materials.

  • Developed a global e-commerce site for Secrid, an iconic Dutch wallet manufacturer.
